Dates and first sponsors announced for Eroticon 2018

After a successful London relaunch of the UK sex writing conference Eroticon, preparations are well underway for next year’s event – a weekend of talks, workshops and entertainment for erotic creatives from around the world. Eroticon 2018 will be held on the 17th/18th March in Camden, London, and will play host to influencers in the sex industry – journalists, sex bloggers, erotica writers and campaigners.

Sheets of San Francisco is a new addition to the event sponsor list – having attended the event in 2017 and given lots of support to attending writers, this year Mark Boulton explains that he wants to be even more involved:

“Eroticon is a very supportive environment for Bloggers and erotic writers and we got a huge amount out of our attendance in 2017. For us it is an important yet fun way to introduce our product to the wider sex blogging community. For 2018 we are working with the Eroticon team to present a workshop showing some of the fun that can be had on our sheets and we are so looking forward to that!”

Other sponsors include Doxy and Hot Octopuss, both long-term supporters of Eroticon and popular companies among the attendees. William Garland, from Doxy, explained:

“Winning brand and product recognition among Eroticon attendees has allowed our small enterprise to compete on an equal basis with established industry names. We couldn’t be happier to be continuing next year.”

Adam Lewis from Hot Octopuss said of Eroticon 2017:

“We were amazed by the sheer number of delegates and their level of interest in our products. Our stand was swamped all weekend by people wanting demos of both our Pulse and our new Queen Bee. We can’t wait for next year and we know the event is going from strength to strength.”

Eroticon is currently run by sex bloggers Girl on the Net, Molly Moore and Michael Knight. In 2017 Eroticon attracted people from all across the UK as well as the US, Canada, Europe, and as far away as New Zealand. As well as online coverage on blogs – over 40% of attendees wrote about Eroticon prior to or after the event – Eroticon 2017 also achieved coverage in erotic publications such as The Amorist, and mainstream outlets Vice, the Independent, Metro and more. On the first official day of the event, the hashtag #Eroticon trended on Twitter in London and the South East.

Eroticon sponsors aren’t just there to show off products – the organisers stress the importance of allowing sponsors to take part in and host workshops and demonstrations too. At Eroticon 2017 Hot Octopuss joined a sex tech talk hosted by an Engadget journalist, and sponsors Fuck.com took part in a panel on pitching – sharing advice and gathering pitches from eager writers keen to contribute to their site. In 2018, plans are afoot for live demonstrations of Sheets of San Francisco’s waterproof sheets during a ‘kinklab’ session, and there’ll be many more surprises along the way.

The Eroticon team explained:

“It’s fantastic to have Sheets of San Francisco, Doxy and Hot Octopuss on board: all three companies have shown incredible support for the writing community, and as a result many Eroticon attendees are solid brand champions, delighted to sing the praises of their fantastic products. We’re looking forward to introducing them to more influencers in 2018, and hopefully tempting more great sex industry companies along to the event too. For 2018 we’ve reduced ticket prices to make sure even more people can attend, and we’re offering a broader range of sponsorship options so that companies can get involved even if they’re not able to spare staff to attend the event themselves.”
