Share Satisfaction Eyden to land in Baby On The Move stores in New Zealand

Share Satisfaction is partnering with leading New Zealand retailer Baby On The Move to bring pelvic floor products into mainstream retail, aiming to improve accessibility and ignite conversations around postpartum recovery, or the ‘fourth trimester’.

In New Zealand, 46 percent of women have at least one pelvic floor disorder as they age, and pregnancy and childbirth are significant factors that can increase this risk. To reduce these health issues, pelvic floor products, such as dilators and kegel balls, are a game-changer in strengthening pelvic floor muscles.

Share Satisfaction, a leading sexual wellness brand, was the first company in Aotearoa (Maori name for New Zealand) to launch a product range tailored to pelvic health, after identifying a concerning gap in the market. The company is excited to be partnering with another New Zealand organisation passionate about looking after women’s health.

“The stigma surrounding pelvic health means it often falls under the radar. But because it’s so common, people are starting to see how closely it intertwines with sexual health, which is a core part of overall wellbeing,” says Nicola Relph from Share Satisfaction.

Out of Share Satisfaction’s Eyden range, Baby On The Move is stocking a dilator set that comes with a bullet vibrator, a variety of kegel bells with vibrating or pulsing options, and lubricants to accompany the devices.

The dilator set helps reduce painful penetration caused by different conditions, including vaginismus, tight pelvic floor muscles, or scar tissue following surgery or vaginal delivery, whereas kegel bells work out the pelvic floor muscles, as they clench upon insertion, strengthening them over time.

Each product helps improve bladder control, reduces the risk of prolapse, and can increase sexual sensation, helping improve physical and sexual wellbeing.

“Our Eyden range has the perfect blend of functionality to build pelvic floor muscles and sexual stimulation, bringing a whole new meaning to working out,” says Relph. “Crucially, they’re a great companion for couples learning how life looks postpartum.”

Although pelvic wellness is not largely discussed or catered for, after giving birth, one in three women experience bladder leakage as a result. Other common pelvic floor health issues include urinary incontinence, pelvic organ prolapse, painful sexual intercourse, and difficulty with everyday actions.

“We’re proud to be empowering women throughout the postpartum period by voicing common issues that many mothers face, and providing the tools to help support them,” says Claire Turner, Baby On The Move Co-Director.

“Pelvic health is about so much more than just taking care of ‘down there’. When it causes an inability to perform basic bodily functions, this can take a real physical and mental toll on mothers.

“What people don’t know is that we need stronger pelvic floor muscles for everything from laughing and sneezing to jumping. Māmā (mothers) will take better care of their tamariki (children) if they’re feeling confident in their bodies.”

Postpartum recovery can be a vulnerable period for many mothers, with intimacy between couples often looking different after giving birth.

“We hope that offering the Eyden range will allow mothers to explore what intimacy looks like with their partner in their own time,” says Turner.
