Sheep Thrills for Welsh Estate Agent
The recently formed Sheep Thrills rounders team (a mixed-gender social rounders team competing in the My Rounders Outdoor League, with a squad of 24 players ranging in age from 16 to almost 60) based in Cwmbran, South Wales, have chosen a local estate agent to be their shirt sponsor – even though he doesn’t actually exist.
Fictional Cwmbran estate agent Eric Meek is the star of The Time-Travelling Estate Agent trilogy of novels, written by former ETO magazine editor Dale Bradford, and the Sheep Thrills team now play with the books’ distinctive logo on their shirts.
“The final volume in The Time-Travelling Estate Agent series was released in early July, and I was looking for a way of promoting it locally,” said Bradford, who grew up in Cwmbran. “When I heard Sheep Thrills were seeking a sponsor it seemed an ideal opportunity to highlight the book’s launch while also making a small contribution to the community. I love that this team’s focus is on creating an inclusive, supportive environment where people can stay active, build confidence, make new friends, and just enjoy the game without pressure.”
