Swiss Navy celebrates Pride Month

Pride month is a celebration of visibility and takes place each June as a tribute to those who were involved in the Stonewall Uprising of 1969. Stonewall became a symbol of resistance to discrimination and has inspired solidarity amongst the LGBTQQIA+ community for decades.

This year, Swiss Navy is once again sponsoring Pride celebratory events around the globe.

“Swiss Navy is excited to be able to show our support to events celebrating Pride month,” said Ellen Friedman Regional Director of Sales & Marketing for M.D. Science. “Being able to be a part of so many celebrations year after year is incredibly rewarding for our entire team. And I personally want to thank y’all for helping make Swiss Navy the most-loved lube in the world!”

Pride month reminds everyone to embrace who they are and celebrate personal self-worth and dignity. There are several ways to show your support.

Respect the Rainbow: Each of the rainbow flag’s eight colors have a meaning: pink for sex, red for life, orange for healing, yellow for sun, green for nature, turquoise for magic, blue for peace, and purple for spirit. The rainbow flag was designed by artist Gilbert Baker and drew inspiration from the rainbow to reflect the many groups within the gay community. Find the colors that speak to you and proudly wear them throughout June.

Join a Pride Parade: In celebration of inclusivity, everyone is welcome to join a Pride march.

Embrace Education: Learn more about the LGBTQQIA+ community and what you can do to help.

Swiss Navy encourages everyone to remember what Pride month is about and be kinder to the members of your own community. And be on the lookout for Swiss Navy at Pride celebrations worldwide.

“Swiss Navy has always been supportive of the LGBTQQIA+ community and employs many facets of the LGBTQ alphabet with Gay, Lesbian and Trans People in our Swiss Navy Family,” said Briana Watkins, M.D. Science Lab’s VP of Sales and Marketing. “We are proud to be allies by supporting LGBTQQIA+ people, their rights, and through sponsoring events throughout the year.”
