Thousands raised for the homeless at Lovehoney’s ‘Sex Not Socks’ swap

Thousands of pounds were raised for the homeless at Lovehoney’s first ever Sex Not Socks swap event. The sexual wellbeing brand was ‘swamped’ with unwanted Christmas gifts which were exchanged for a free pleasure product worth up to £59.99 at the event on the Southbank in central London. Lovehoney opened the event up to the first 1,000 members of the public aged 18-plus who presented a gift or made a small cash donation in return for a free sex toy.

Lovehoney Brand & Marketing Director, Helen Balmer, said: “We have been thrilled by the response to our first Sex Not Socks gift swap. We were swamped with gifts from the public which will be sold in charity shops to aid the homeless throughout the UK. We all get a few traditional but slightly dull presents each Christmas, such as socks and gift sets, which are stored away in a drawer and forgotten about. We wanted to put those unwanted gifts to good use with our Sex Not Socks event. It really captured the public’s imagination and we had a steady stream of visitors throughout the day.”

Items in the gift swap lucky dip include the £59.99 Desire Luxury Rechargeable Vibrator, a very popular product praised for its ‘good vibes’ according to Lovehoney reviewers, alongside a number of other mystery items to spice up the winter nights.
