Raspberry Dream Labs hosts virtual reality talks

Due to the outbreak of COVID-19, Raspberry Dream Labs (RDL) is taking their chain of events under the name of ‘UNSENSORED talks’ into virtual reality (VR). The debuting event is the first sex tech panel themed “Sex & Blockchain: Are We Safe?” taking place in AltspaceVR on April 23rd.

Blockchains technology is currently revolutionising many aspects of human existence. What about the sex industry? It can certainly impact the ways sex workers get paid, record consent between partners, document and report sexual harassment, but what happens when it comes to the actual cybersex intercourse? By design, blockchain is “an open, distributed ledger that can record transactions between two parties efficiently and in a verifiable and permanent way”. How anonymous is our sex history on the blockchain? Are we protected as we think we are? Or maybe it doesn’t matter that much, as the less we hide – the less we fear?

This event will feature a panel of experts discussing the pros and cons of the blockchain technology to revolutionize sex & sex tech industries. The discussion will focus on the different aspect of technology implications, including cryptocurrency & sex work, communication platforms, potential threats, issues of consent & smart contracts, privacy on blockchain, the security of peer-to-peer verification, the effect on intimate relationships & self-identity, the human need for privacy, and the future of blockchain, sex tech & cybersecurity.

Panel experts include Alison Falk, SX Noir, Batuhan Bintas, and Lori Beth Bisbey. Panel hosted by Angelina Aleksandrovich

The audience can attend the event using HTC Vive; Oculus Rift, Go, and Quest; Samsung GearVR; Windows Mixed Reality; and 2D Mode on PC.

This event is a part of the “UNSENSORED series”- a project designed to grow community, brand and subject awareness by building strong emotional connections with our audience through multiple interactive touchpoints. “UNSENSORED series” is unraveling how multi-sensory technologies are re-defining and revolutionizing sexual experiences, engaging people in the sensory exploration, increasing and improving sexual wellbeing through the series of talks, workshops & parties. We are building a future-orientated community of like-minded individuals and creating a better understanding of what a sexual experience means for humans, aside from reproduction.
